FESPA DIGITAL 2012*: Antalis launches Coala, its new visual communications best-of-breed LFP range, across Europe

High-quality, transversal products sourced from strategic suppliers and supported by dedicated viscom sales force plus strong distribution network, constitute key market differentiators for Antalis on this fragmented market    

Country, date – Antalis, the leading European distributor of paper and packaging solutions, launches Coala, its new range of flexible, Large Format Printing (LFP) products available in more than 20 European markets. This launch underlines the importance Antalis places in the development of its viscom activities, a key area of growth for the company going forward. Coala is also one of the cornerstones of Antalis’ European Digital-to-Business (d2b) initiative. This initiative aims to help customers leverage the many business opportunities provided by the emergence of highly innovative digital technologies and applications.   

To be launched at Fespa Digital 2012, the Coala collection includes 20 products for water-based ink and 54 for solvent/UV/latex ink. It therefore provides printers with the versatility and performance they need to deliver premium quality print jobs to end customers. Coala is backed by a highly-skilled sales team of more than 170 viscom specialists and Antalis’ pan-European distribution network.

The Coala collection is the result of more than a decade’s experience in the graphic arts industry, combined with on-the-ground research by Antalis work groups across Europe.  It offers customers an excellent mix of both commodity and innovative products to cover the full scope of their needs under a single brand. The collection contains substrates for both indoor and outdoor applications including a broad range of papers, self-adhesives, banners, textiles, wallpapers and specialty media. Particular attention has been paid to the development of products for latex ink.

The Coala collection has been sourced from strategic European suppliers, primarily from Germany, that have undergone a rigorous selection process. Only those suppliers offering optimum performance combined with value-for-money and market-relevant products have been selected. Strong environmental credentials were also a decisive criterion and Coala includes a large selection of PVC-free products such as films, textiles and FSC- or PEFC-certified papers. With Coala, Antalis is perfectly positioned to become the partner-of-choice for printers with a local or international presence seeking to build a portfolio of competitive, creative LFP applications.

The visual communications market is currently growing by between 5% and 10% annually with the flexible media segment in particular demonstrating enormous potential. This potential is linked to the diversity of supports that can be used (paper, vinyl, adhesives, film, textiles etc.), the ease of application and therefore the quick return on investment for printers investing in LFP machines. The Coala collection will allow printers to leverage this potential and boost their profitability. Antalis will continue to work with suppliers to extend the collection even further with new, inventive media.

To help customers chose the products best suited to their needs, Antalis has developed a number of tools to accompany the launch of the collection. These include 2 swatchbooks - one for the water-based products and another for the solvent/UV/latex products - a brochure covering the complete range and a number of sample folders.
